UNESCO virtual gallery showcases Iran artisan artwork

A virtual art gallery, hosted by the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, is being held on the occasion of Afghan Art Week.

A virtual exhibit, mounted by the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, is displaying artworks themed on last month’s Kabul terrorist attack.

The exhibition is being held under the title 'Where are you, My Beloved', on the occasion of the Afghanistan Art Week.

On November 2, heavily-armed gunmen stormed Kabul University in Afghanistan's capital city, killing and injuring people there.

Fereydoun Mohammadi, an official in Alborz Province attached to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, said a work of art made by Somayeh Firouzi from the province is being displayed at this exhibition.

The artwork is a wooden window with broken glass. Firouzi made it in memory of the Kabul attack and the slain Afghan students.

The virtual exhibit began on December 12 will run until Friday.
